Elder Paul Christopher Johnson was born on November 22, 1956 in Columbia, SC to Deacon Richard Johnson, Sr. and Sister Helen B. Johnson. He graduated from W. J. Keenan High School in 1974, the University of South Carolina with an Associate Degree in Accounting in 1976, and with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1979.

Elder Johnson was baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ on June 13, 1972 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost on June 19, 1972. His first assignment was working with the Youth Department of the Headquarters Church in Columbia, SC as the Bible Study Committee Chairman. Eventually he was appointed as president of the local Youth Department in Columbia, SC. He was later appointed as Vice-President of the National Youth Department.

After graduation from the University of South Carolina, his first job was with the S.C. General Assembly at the S.C. Legislative Audit Council. He has worked for S.C. State Government as a bank examiner, the South Carolina National Bank as a senior auditor, and currently serves as Senior Audit Officer and Senor Compliance Officer at the Coastal Bank in Hinesville, Georgia. Presently he has 19 years of professional banking experience and serves on the Board of Directors of two civic organizations.

Elder Johnson received his call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1976 at the National Youth Convention. Like Jonah, he tried to decline the call of God. However, after many trials and several confirmations, he surrendered his will and the proverbial fish delivered him to the coastal city of Hinesville, Georgia where he currently serves as pastor. Minister Johnson began assisting with the work in Hinesville in 1985 and was appointed interim pastor in 1992. He was officially installed as pastor of the church in 1993. He was ordained as an Elder in July of 1997 during the 53rd Annual Holy Convocation. The church in Hinesville continues to grow under his leadership.
