Pastor and Sister Woodrow Willingham |
| Elder Woodrow Willingham, Jr. was born and raised in Winnsboro, South
Carolina to loving parents, Sister Ever B. Willingham and the late Woodrow
Willingham, Sr. After attending public schools there, he entered
into the ministry in 1974. He attended ministerial classes at
Benedict College and the Progressive Church National Ministerial Training
Program.
On December 25, 1976, Elder Willingham was united in holy matrimony to
Sister Rosa B. Willingham. To this union four children were
born: Micah, Sharhonda, Ezra and Shearee Willingham.
God sent a witness to Sister Rosa B. Willingham, which she shared with
Elder Willingham. Elder Willingham visited the Progressive
Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Hopkins, SC. There he heard the
Word of God preached and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
In 1986, Elder Willingham was appointed interim pastor of the
Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Winnsboro, SC and in 1987,
he was appointed as pastor.
The Progressive Church in Winnsboro continues to grow spiritually and
naturally under Elder Willingham's leadership. God's Word is being
preached and heard throughout our community and souls are being
saved. |
