Elder Lang Priester, pastor of Progressive Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Charlotte, North Carolina, is responsible for the overall well-being of approximately 250 local church members.  Standing firm on God’s truth, he is convincing many to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things shall be added unto them.

In 1959, Lang Priester was baptized in Jesus’ name at age sixteen, and received the Holy Ghost six days later.  He immediately involved himself in the church; his love for Sunday School inspired him to study diligently.  Brother Priester began teaching Sunday School and later was appointed Superintendent.  He was Quiz Master for the Youth Department, became Church Secretary, regular Conductor for Saturday Night Prayer Service, Tambourine Player, and Chairman of the Boys Club.  He was a faithful Senior Choir member until it was evident that the Lord had something else for him to do.

After his tour of duty in the Armed Forces, Minister Priester was united in marriage to Sister Agatha Legette in 1966.  God blessed them with Minister Priester’s request for six sons.

In 1972, Minister Priester was sent to pastor the church in Charlotte.  After several years, he was ordained Elder during the National Convocation.  He organized and taught in the J. D. Williams Bible Institute.  He was instrumental in establishing several missions in cities such as Asheboro and Monroe (North Carolina), Atlanta and Columbus (Georgia), Lancaster and Chesterfield (South Carolina), and Tampa (Florida).  The Charlotte church has welcomed and received many who came from Africa (Liberia, Zaire, Cameroon, Nigeria and the Ivory Coast).

Elder Priester has served the National church in several capacities:  District Elder, Board of Presbyters, Advisory Council, and Convocation Planning Committee.
